Düsseldorf Panther vs. Zurich Renegades

March 17, 2001 - International Friendship game

56:2

(7:0; 20:0; 22:0; 7:2)

In the second pre-season game, the Panthers welcomed the acting Youth Champion of Switzerland,  the Zurich Renegades, which have  won 5 National Titles, and a more balanced game was to await, than one week before. The first quarter kept what was expected, and against the suppressed defence of the Swiss, the Panthers reached the Renegades endzone once only. The  boys from Zurich remained dangerous, especially by their nimble Runningback, but the Defense of the Panthers was on the spot, and forced them to punt, before they attained a field position to score. In the second quarter, the Panthers increased the pressure by a variable change between passing and running game and added 20 points to their score, what gave them a 27:0 lead at the break, and the game was decided.
